Papasan has quickly become my go-to spot for sushi in Fremont. It's a smaller restaurant with a homey vibe and their food is fresh and delicious.
Their special bento boxes are definitely worth trying out! The Hokkaido bento comes with hotate, uni, ikura, fried ebi head, and other premium items. their regular bentos are also really good and have a good variety. My boyfriend also really enjoys the ramen here as well. They have a lot of other different specials so you'll find something for everyone.
I like how their menu isn't overwhelming and the selection is still pretty extensive.
So far everything I've ordered has been great. The quality of their food shines through, and I look forward to our next visit. -

The service is really bad. After came into the restaurant, we waited around 5 minutes for being seated. They only have one server but she stays in the kitchen and doesn't come out to say hi or seat us.
5 minutes later she came out, but she just point at a seat and hand us the menu, without saying a single word. Her impression shows how impatient she is.
We waited another 10 minutes for her to come out and take our order, and she is still very impatient: she doesn't say anything, and she just left without waiting for my wife to finish ordering food.
Overall, the food is okay but the service is really bad. You can feel that the server doesn't welcome you here. -

Negatives:
1. Bad location/parking- Everyone trying to back out at the same time and even cars who are just stopped in the middle preventing other cars from backing out.
2. Service- Only one lady being the waitress; took forever to get our order in.
3. Wait for food- Took 20-30 mins for the food to come out.
4. Food- Ordered Bento Ninja with Chicken katsu. Expected the katsu to be crispy, but it was not. It was more soggy since they put a sour sauce on it.
5. Pay- Also waited forever to get the check.
Positives:
1. Potato croquettes- crispy and delicious.
2. Orange- bento came with them and they were good.
3. Authentic- Japanese sushi chef.
4. Seating- Sat in a booth and it was so cute.
5. Nice waitress- the lady was nice. -

Hamachi madness and salmon butter paradise torched with ikura were still my favorite! Loved the fried oyster and potato croquette too. My friend ordered the ikura hand roll which she enjoyed, and we ordered the sashimi platter which was pretty good. Hokkaido scallop from Japan was just okay. I would order the regular next time :-) desert wasn't spectacular as we0 ordered the green tea sampler which consisted of cheesecake, mochi, and ice cream. Skip dessert next time. Ben and wife is always friendly. My friends loved the place!

Came here on a Friday night. It was busy but we were able to get seating immediately. Food was delicious. Would highly recommend the black garlic Raman. Great family dinner
